Mohammed Kudus Should Learn To Control His Temperament- West Ham Julen Lopetegui
West Ham United coach Julen Lopetegui has urged Mohammed Kudus to work on controlling his temperament, following the player’s recent red card against Tottenham Hotspur.
The incident occurred last weekend when the Hammers suffered a 4-1 defeat.
Ahead of the upcoming match against Manchester United, Lopetegui addressed Kudus’ behavior, emphasizing the need for improvement and growth.
“He (Mohammed Kudus) has to improve his temperament because this can’t happen,” Lopetegui stated.
“I am sure this will be the last time it happens. The only way to handle frustration is to focus on the match because these kinds of behaviors can ruin the game. He will learn from this incident, and his behavior will be better in the future.”
The incident took place after Kudus, who had opened the scoring for West Ham, reacted angrily to a challenge from Tottenham defender Micky van de Ven.
Van de Ven appeared to provoke Kudus by gesturing towards his head, leading to Kudus poking him in the face. He later lashed out at Pape Sarr.
Following a review by the video assistant referee (VAR), Kudus’ initial yellow card was upgraded to a red, resulting in his first sending-off since 2019.
The Ghana international is now set to serve a three-game ban.
