Kotoku Shinning Stars Beat Montreal FC In GARFA Soccabet Division Two League
2023/2024 GARFA zone 3 champions, Kotoku Shining Stars FC began the 2024/2025 Garfa division 2 league season with a triumph over Montreal FC on Wednesday’s outstanding fixture.
The match saw both teams come into the game well prepared and ready to claim the maximum points at hand. Both sides created lots of opportunities with the hosts coming closest to scoring as Shining Stars defender,Kester Danguri made an impressive goal line block to keep the match level before the half.
The visitors who had come into the match as favourites following their FA Cup triumph over Division One giants Hohoe United FC found their groove and started taking the game to the hosts . After much chances and pressure, the visitors finally found the back of the net with a Dominic Bonsu strike after receiving a pass from Faisal Mohammed right in front of the opponent box.
In the closing minutes of the game another defense splitting pass from Faisal saw Philip Popoo one on one with the goal keeper but his effort was saved and striker, Arcadius N-yong hopped onto the rebound showing full composure and calmly slotting the ball into the net for the 2nd goal and winner to secure a first win for the visitors this season.
Kotoku Shining Stars will now prepare for Saturday’s home game against Accra Golden Boys FC at the Alajo Astro turf and hope to continue their perfect start to the season
